STEM TEACHER AWARD
STEM Teacher Award aims to recognise and celebrate teachers and primary school teachers who have demonstrated outstanding commitment to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) education. It aims to highlight the positive impact they have had on their pupils and the wider education community. The award recognises the STEM teacher who has inspired students to explore and excel in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. In addition to using innovative and creative methods to teach STEM.
Aim of the Award
The STEM Teacher Award aims to recognise and celebrate teachers and primary school teachers who have demonstrated outstanding commitment to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) education. It seeks to highlight the positive impact they have had on their pupils and the wider education community. The award recognises STEM teachers who have inspired students to explore and excel in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics by using innovative and creative methods to teach STEM.
Deadline
The call for applications will open on Monday, 1 September 2024, and close on Friday, 18 October 2024, at 14:00. The selection of the finalists will be announced on Monday, 28 October, and the winning entry will be revealed live in Barcelona on Wednesday, 13 November.
Requirements
Nominees must be active or retired teaching staff who teach or have taught Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics in a primary educational institution.
Nominees must have at least three years’ experience in STEM teaching.
Nominees must demonstrate significant achievements in improving student performance and interest in STEM disciplines.
Special recognition will be given to teachers who also promote diversity and inclusion in STEM among minority groups.
Nomination Process:
Nominations: Nominations may be made by members of the educational community, students, parents, or principals of educational institutions. Nominators should provide a brief justification as to why their candidate is worthy of this recognition.
Evaluation: A committee of STEM experts will evaluate nominations against predefined criteria, including academic achievement, pedagogical innovation, impact on the educational community, and student motivation.
Prizes and Awards
The winner will receive a trophy and a certificate in recognition of their dedication and achievement in teaching STEM in primary education.
Presentation of the Award:
The STEM Teacher Award will be announced at the STEM Women Congress in Barcelona on Wednesday, 13 November 2024.

STEM Woman Award aims to recognise the outstanding work of dedicated women in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). The award acknowledges women who have made a significant contributions to their field and who have demonstrated an outstanding commitment to promoting gender equality in STEM.
Aim of the Award
The STEM Woman Award aims to recognise the outstanding work of committed women in the field of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).
This award seeks to honour women who have made significant contributions in their area of expertise and have demonstrated an outstanding commitment towards the promotion of gender equality in STEM.
Eligibility
The STEM Woman Award is open to women of all ages working or studying in STEM-related fields. Candidates must demonstrate an outstanding commitment to promoting gender equality in STEM, either through their professional achievements, outreach activities, or leadership in STEM-related projects. There are no geographical restrictions for participation; the prize will be awarded internationally.
Nomination Process
Nominations can be submitted by third parties or by the candidates themselves. Nominations should include detailed information about the nominee’s achievements and commitment to STEM, as well as examples of her impact. An online nomination form will be provided on the official STEM Woman Award website.
Deadlines
Nominations will be accepted between Monday, 2 September 2024 and Thursday, 26 September 2024. All nominations will be announced on the official website on 27 September 2024. The selection of the finalists will depend on the results of the public vote and the evaluation by an expert committee, with a weighted average being calculated between the two.
Evaluation and Selection
50% Public Vote:
The online voting process will take place between Tuesday, 1 October and Friday, 25 October at 14:00. During this phase, anyone can vote for the candidate they consider most deserving.
50% Jury:
A committee of STEM and gender equality experts will review all nominations and evaluate the nominees based on their excellence in STEM and their contribution to the promotion of gender equality.
The decisions of the selection committee will be final and not subject to appeal.
Award
The winners will receive a certificate of recognition, as well as the opportunity to promote their work through the STEM Woman Award platform.
Presentation of the award
The award will be presented at an annual ceremony, bringing together leading women in STEM, gender equality advocates, and members of the STEM community, at the STEM Women Congress in Barcelona on 12 November 2024.

STEM PUBLIC AGENT AWARD
The public sector plays a crucial role in addressing and reducing gender inequality in STEM. We want to highlight the work of those who are fighting for real change with policies and legislation, support or different initiatives that help to combat the under-representation of women in STEM.
Aim of the Award
The aim of the STEM Public Agent Award is to recognise institutions that demonstrate a commitment to reducing the gender gap in STEM. The award aims to highlight the real impact of initiatives, programmes and/or new policies or legislation that help to address the under-representation of women in STEM and promote equal opportunities.
Submission of applications
Nominations will be accepted from Monday 2 September 2024 until Friday 18 October 2024 at 14:00. The selection of the finalists will be announced on Monday 28 October and the winning application will be revealed live in Barcelona on Tuesday 12 November.
Requeriments
Candidates must be from a public or private institution that promotes the unequal participation and representation of women in STEM.
Candidates must have at least one year of experience in promoting action to reduce the gender gap in STEM.
Candidates must demonstrate significant achievements in reducing the gender gap for the STEM sectors.
Nomination Process:
Nominations: Nominations may be made by members of or connected with public institutions. Nominators should briefly justify why their candidate is deserving of this recognition.
Evaluation: Applications will be assessed by a panel of experts on the basis of pre-defined criteria such as impact and practical application, quality and originality, and the potential of the actions or initiatives. In addition, the measures taken by the institutions to combat gender inequality in STEM will be assessed.
Presentation of the award
The STEM Public Agent Award will be announced at the STEM Women Congress Barcelona 2024 on Tuesday 12 November.
These guidelines provide a solid framework for the STEM Public Agent Award, outlining the eligibility criteria, the nomination process, the prizes and the award ceremony.
