#ChicasInTech is an initiative of the Esplai Foundation with the aim of motivating more girls and adolescents to choose vocations related to technology, which has been in operation since 2018. At the Esplai Foundation, we are committed to learning, awareness and the promotion of technological skills in women and young people, as well as the incorporation of the gender perspective in all our projects.
Competencies in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics (STEAM) are basic and recommended in lifelong learning. In a society in which technologies are increasingly present, it is crucial that those who design them are people with gender, ethnic and cultural diversity, among others. The inclusion of girls and adolescents in the STEAM field entails humanizing Science and Technology itself, remembering that they are not neutral, but rather another opportunity to educate citizens committed to social and ethical values.
