The Global Compact Network Portugal, within the framework of the Target Gender Equality accelerator program, launches the NATIONAL TARGET FOR GENDER EQUALITY, challenging Portuguese companies to reach 40% of Women in Decision-Making Positions by 2030 [Board of Directors, Committee Executive and First Line Management].

The initiative, anchored in SDG 5 – Gender Equality of the UN 2030 Agenda, has the support of the Secretary of State for Citizenship and Equality, the CIG – Commission for Citizenship and Gender Equality, the CITE – Commission for Equality in Work and Employment and the APEE – Portuguese Association of Business Ethics.

Through the National Goal for Gender Equality we will amplify the commitment of companies in this area, substantiating Portugal’s contribution to an objective that belongs to everyone: “Transforming our world”, within the framework of the UN Agenda 2030 .
The United Nations Global Compact offers high-impact accelerator programs that aim to incorporate the 10 Principles and 17 Sustainable Development Goals in the management and operations of companies, impacting their impact on the value chain.
